Moro Plantation was organized on April 29, 1891 from a portion of Rockabema Plantation, which had been organized several times for election purposes, formed from T6 R5 and T6 R7 WELS.

Moro Plantation is located about twenty-four miles west of Houlton, and north of Patten, along Maine Route 11. Knowles Corner, on its northern boundary, is at the intersection of Maine Route 11 and Maine Route 212, which leads to Smyrna Mills to the south. The plantation includes Rockabema Lake and several small ponds and streams.
