Settled in 1776 as Littleborough Plantation, Leeds was incorporated as a town on February 16, 1801. The following year, it annexed land from Livermore, then set off land to Wayne in 1810 and 1859, and to Wales in 1855. Leeds is located in Androscoggin County.
