Knox is a town in Waldo County, Maine. It was incorporated on February 12, 1819 from Knox Plantation, named for the Revolutionary War General Henry Knox. The town annexed land from Thorndike and Montville in 1831 and 1833. Knox is located northwest of Belfast along Maine Route 137.
