Jackson is a small town in Waldo County, Maine. It was incorporated on June 12, 1818 from Jackson Plantation, and named for General Henry Jackson, a veteran of the American Revolution.
The land is hilly, with Mount Harris being the high points at over 1,200 feet, and remnants of the Appalachian chain to the north. The land area of the township is mostly forested, primarily a second growth northern mixed hardwood forest.
The town is served by Maine Route 7, and located between Brooks and Dixmont.
