Easton was incorporated on February 24, 1865 from Freemont Plantation. Located southeast of Presque Isle and served by United States Route 1 and Maine Route 10, Easton has long been, and remains an agricultural community, growing potatoes and other crops, raising horses, as well as being host to wood and food processing plants such as McCain Foods and J.M. Huber Corporation.
