Corinna, a small town in Penobscot County, Maine, was incorporated in 1818. Although the town's early inhabitants asked for the town to be named North Woods, it was named after the daughter Dr. John Warren, who had purchased the township from Massachusetts in 1804 and encouraged settlement there.
