Ramona is considered the gateway to the inland mountains and because of its location well above the fog line and below the snow line, has become known as the Valley of the Sun.
Once known as the turkey capital of the world, it's one of the oldest established communities in San Diego County and for that reason has become home to a variety of antique shops, an antique capital so to speak.
