Long Beach Society and Culture

• Agent Orange Widows Awareness Coalition  - Aims to locate veterans of the Vietnam War, those who served in Korea, and their families to inform them of the health hazards relative to their exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides and chemicals while on military service.
• Animal Acres  - Farm animal sanctuary for rescued farm cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, and goats.
• Associated Radio Amateurs of Long Beach  - Contains features of the association's members and announcement of its meetings and activities.
• Children Today  - Fulfills the mission of providing community-based services to children and families experiencing homelessness with the provision of a safe place for parents to leave children while they rebuild their lives.
• The Children's Clinic  - Partners with parents and the community in providing health care services and health education and promotion of needy children and families. Serves medically underserved, low-income and high-risk populace of Long Beach and the South Bay.
• Disabled Resources Center, Inc.  - Empowers people with disabilities to live independently in the community. Services offered includes assistive technology, community advocacy for system change, housing, independent living skills and peer support, information and referral, personal assistance, and other relevant services.
• Experimental Aircraft Association - Chapter 7  - Contains announcement of the associaiton's meetings and information about its officers and projects undertaken by its members. With features on the association's Young Eagles Program.
• Friends of Long Beach Animals  - Aids the Long Beach Bureau of Animal Control in managing the problem of pet overpopulation coupled with the advocacy of promoting animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
• Hillside Enterprises  - Provides special education for children and adults with mental retardation. Its center-based programs include work activities, supported employment, adult development, and special needs.
• Lakewood Masonic Lodge #728  - Presents information on the masonic lodge which includes its history, officers, and membership requirements. Also gives updates on upcoming events and shows pictures of activities.
• Long Beach Community Business Network  - Non-profit organization founded by a group of gay and lesbian business owners that serves as networking and support organization for gay owned and gay friendly businesses within the greater Long Beach area.
• The Long Beach Computer Club  - Non-profit organization operated by volunteers that supports personal computer users. Its members are engage in community service projects such as wiring of schools for internet access and setting up of computer laboratories.
• Long Beach Pride Parade.com  - Shows a photo essay of the Long Beach Pride Parade from 2003 to present.
• Meetup.com: Long Beach  - Find local events organized by topic.
• Mentoring - A Touch from Above  - Works with jailed youth to help them take responsibility for their action and re-enter the community as responsible young men. Services offered includes counseling, retreats for youth, job training and placement, housing placement, seminars on topics of need and other related services.
• Navy League: Long Beach Council  - Includes council information, membership, calendar of events, and highlights the USS Green Bay.
• Operation Jump Start  - Mentoring program helping disadvantaged youth to stay in school and improve their lives through higher education.
• Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays  - Community-based non-profit organization that serves as venue for families and friends of lesbians and gays to discuss issues of acceptance and understanding of gay children, sibling and friends.
