• Hitchcock House on the Underground Railway  - Read information on this important stop for the runaway slaves in 1856 who were using the underground railway.
• Hoyt Sherman Place  - Des Moines mansion built in 1877 by prominent pioneer businessman Hoyt Sherman. Add to over the years to become an acoustically perfect theater and place of entertainment.
• Scholte House  - 22 room home built for Dominie Scholte's wife as a recreation of their home in the Netherlands.
• Walter Residence - Cedar Rock  - Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Lowell Walter and his wife Agnes. The entire interior was also Wrights creation, even down to picking out the carpeting.
