Sealyham Terriers were bred in Wales in the mid 19th century by Captain John Edwards when he crossed various terriers including the West Highland White Terrier. The breed was recognised by the AKC in 1911. A distinguishing feature is the long fringe and coats are all white or white with brown or tan markings. The breed take their name from the estate of Captain Edwards, Sealyham Estate in Pembroekshire Wales.
