The Anatolian Shepherd Dog, also known as Coban Kopegi, and Karabas, is similar to the Great Pyrenees and the Kuvasz, but more slim and swift. The ancestors of the Karabas were used in war and for hunting. In Turkey, the Coban Kopegi wear spiked collars to protect their throats when they fight with predators.
