The Saluki is also known as a Gazelle Hound, Arabian Hound, Persian Greyhound, Tanji and a Persian Sighthound. Salukis were named after the Arabian city, Saluki, in the Middle East, which has since vanished. It is known to have an odor free coat and a strange sprinting style (all four of their legs are in the air at the same time). This Arabian Hound is thought of by the Muslims as a sacred gift of Allah, and is therefore never sold but only offered as gift.
