Antiangiogenics prevent Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) from binding to receptors and creating new blood vessels. They are used to treat some types of cancer and macular degeneration.
Drugs include Bevacizumab (Avastin), Pegaptanib (Macugen), and Ranibizumab (Lucentis).
