A forensic science subspecialty, forensic dentistry or forensic odontology refers to the proper examination, evaluation, and handling of dental evidences. It is used in the identification of a person through dental records or ante-mortem photographs, the assessment of bite mark injuries, assessments of abuse cases, age estimation, and civil cases involving malpractice.
