Incontinence means the failure to control urination or the excretion of bodily gases and feces. It is common among infants since their nervous systems are still immature to perform such functions as controlling urination or defecation. Later incontinence though, would entail disorders such as paralysis, weak pelvic muscles, spinal injury, long term bladder distension, neural tube defect, or abnormal psychological reactions.
