• Arla  - Free AFS implementation and supported by NetBSD, Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X platforms.
• Coda File System  - Networked file system, developed since 1987. With list of features, documentation and FAQs.
• CryptFS  - Vnode Stackable file system, generated using LaTeX2HTML translator. Contains overview of application, bibliography and evaluation.
• Filesystem Hierarchy Standard  - Designed to be used by system implementors and Unix distribution developers, intended as reference.
• JCIFS  - Implements CIFS/SMB networking protocol in Java, support LMv2.
