• Playmidi  - Linux MIDI file player based on X11. Supports playback to any OSS-supported synth device.
• TiMidity++  - Free synthesizer that plays MIDI files by converting them into PCM waveform data. Plays remote MIDI files over the network as well as MIDI in archive files.
