Hard drives, also referred to as hard disks or hard disk drives (HDDs), are the primary storage device of modern computers, printers, and digital music players. They contain rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Hard disks used to have removable media but at present, they are mainly sealed devices fixed within a computer for the non-volatile storage of digital data.
