Bette Davis was born Ruth Elizabeth Davis on April 5, 1908 and died of cancer on October 6, 1989. She was the first female president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was in more than 100 roles during her career, including parts in The Bad Sister (her first movie), 20,000 Years in Sing Sing, Of Human Bondage, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte.
