Carver Dana Andrews, who later changed his name to Dana Andrews, was born on New Years Day, 1909 and died on December 17, 1992, having suffered from Alzheimer's disease for years. He shared the marquee with the likes of Henry Fonda in "The Oxbow Incident," and Gary Cooper in "The Westerner." He was an alcoholic for many years and in 1972 he appeared in a public service ad aimed at alcoholics.
