Immensely influential and prolific composer of the Baroque period; born in 1685, died 1750.

He wrote religious and secular works for choir, orchestra, and solo instruments. Some of his best known compositions might include the Brandenburg concertos, the Goldberg Variations, The Well-Tempered Clavier, his Mass in B Minor, and his St Matthew Passion.
