Will Smith stars in "I Am Legend," a science fiction movie based on the 1954 book by Richard Matheson in which Smith, a virologist who is immune to a virus which wipes out everyone, as far as he can tell, leaving him alone in Manhattan with his dog, fighting zombies. Other film adaptations of the novel include "The Last Man on Earth (1964) and "The Omega Man" (1971).
