Emma Darcy is the pseudonym of the husband-and-wife team of Australian writers Wendy Brenna (November) and Frank Brennan. Over 45 romance novels have been written under the Emma Darcy name selling approximately 60 million books and lasting over a decade until Frank Brennan's death in 1995. The "Emma Darcy Award Contest" was created to help encourage authors in finishing their manuscripts. It grants a $2,000 cash prize along with an assurance that the winning manuscript would be seen by an acquiring editor.
The first Darcy crime novel "Who Killed Angelique?" won the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Novel in 2002. Meanwhile, a succeeding novel entitled "Who Killed Bianca" became a finalist for the Ned Kelly Award for Best Novel in 2003.
