Jules Verne was a French author known for his pioneering science fiction novels, most notably "A Journey to the Center of the Earth", "Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea" and "Around the World in Eighty Days". His work is widely translated and has inspired many films. He was born in 1828 and died in 1905.
