Clive Staples Lewis, known to readers as C.S. Lewis, was known to friends as "Jack." A self-proclaimed atheist from the age of 15, he dabbled in the occult and mythology. He once described himself as having been "very angry with God for not existing". At the age of 33, he became a committed Christian and began writing as one, embracing apologetics as well as Christian fiction and nonfiction.
