Grave of the Fireflies was an animated film that was released in 1988 and is an anime version of the semi-biographical novel by Isao Takahata. It is set n Japan during the end of World War II and revolves around two orphans whose father was killed in the Imperial Japanese Navy and whose mother died in the firebombing of Kobe.
