Dr. Caroline Smythe, founder of Whole Heath Psychiatry, is a board certified psychiatrist and is certified in Functional Medicine. This makes her a truly integrative physician. Her emphasis is on balance, so she is always working with her patients to help create a more balanced physiology, a more balanced emotional self, a more balanced life. This can sometimes require labs and general detective work, but can also be fun as new tools are taught in how to manage some of the inevitable stressors of living in this century. She will address old beliefs and old traumas, as well as digestive or inflammatory conditions, problems with detoxification or inflammation, hormonal issues and nutritional deficiencies. She has training in body-oriented psychotherapy modalities and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Bringing the body into the conversation is essential. She sees adults with a wide range of symptoms and children with ADHD or learning disorders.
