I ordered one of the new 2nd gen (2022+) Subaru BRZ's to replace my 2014 BRZ back in September 2021 with Nick. I just received it yesterday (12/18/2021). The timeline I received when I placed the order was spot on, and I got updates throughout the process. Everyone was very communicative throughout the whole thing. I did not get charged any kind of mark-up, despite this being a rather difficult, niche car to get ahold of in this market. This seems to show their attitude towards doing right by their customers.

I came in knowing exactly what I wanted (and believe me, as an enthusiast, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted), and I was not pressured at all into getting something else. When I shop for a car, that is almost never the case. I have had stuff like an automatic Nissan Altima pushed on me when I'm shopping for a manual RWD vehicle like a BRZ, or an S2000. That was NOT the case here at all, there was not even pushback on me explicitly wanting the base model instead of the higher trim. Nick "read the room" very well and could tell what type of buyer I was.

I had about 24-hours notice between when the car came in, and when I picked it up. Chad in the finance department was more than happy to give me some extra time to get the rest of my down-payment together.

The whole sales process was as quick as it could possibly be considering I was trading in a vehicle that had a lienholder. Again, Nick was great at reading his audience and could tell that I cared more about the new engine than any of the tech features. We just nerd-ed out about the torque peak being lower during any downtime in the process.

All in all, a super great experience. Would recommend Tom Wood Subaru (and Nick in particular) to anyone! The only thing that did not make me feel like a king here was the fact that I didn't get the FIRST 2nd gen BRZ, I got the second one to come through here.

And for this car specifically, Tom Wood Subaru handled it way better than the neighboring Toyota dealership. Toyota won't do orders of their version (the GR86). The manufacturer basically just sends them whatever they feel like sending. They would gladly take your money, but you have no guarantee that you'll get a red base model with the 6-speed and 2 specific accessories. Meanwhile Subaru will let you get whatever you want. That's ultimately why I went with the BRZ over the GR86.
