Our mission at Shine Bright Speech therapy is to see kids thrive in their natural environment, help kids meet developmental milestones, and watch them reach their full potential. Shine Bright Speech therapy provides children with individualized speech and language therapy services tailored specifically to each child's needs. We embrace both strengths and weaknesses and utilize their skills to help them become successful in school, at home, and in life. Last but not least, we encourage fun and play, because a child's happiness is priceless. Alyson Quintavalle is a certified and licensed Speech and Language Pathologist serving kids in Northern New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University and her Master of Science (MS) in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University. She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the state of New Jersey. In 2013, Alyson was selected by ASHA to present her Master's Thesis at the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Convention in Chicago, Illinois. There, she presented her thesis titled "The Effect of E-books on Listening Comprehension & Vocabulary Development in Preschool Children" and how the use of certain digital technologies can enhance a child's performance. Alyson currently practices speech therapy at a special education school in Fair Lawn, NJ, serving students with special needs. Here, she evaluates and treats kids with receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, articulation, and oral- motor disorders. Alyson has also attended workshops regarding topics such as dyslexia and reading disabilities, how to utilize iPad apps in the therapy setting, and being social in the classroom.
