Park Royal Behavioral Health Services

After numerous Baker Acts Judge Porter ordered I not be treated at Park Royal Hospital due to substandard care. After this court order and release I was Baker Acted again and swiftly locked up at Park Royal Hospital for about three weeks. Again, I received substandard care and witnessed the substandard and abusive care of other participants. No medications were prescribed during this period or administered.
Medically necessasry Levothyroxine for Graves disease finally received the last three days due to the intervention of staff.
As I was leaving I was coerced into signing a financial responsibility statement without benefit of insurance.

This place was awful. Mental health is far behind here in this area and needs to be addressed.

It very sad how this place treats patients. They admit someone, determine they are not suicidal and still hold them for 7 days. They do very little therapy, maybe 10 minutes a day. Very sad that they say they offer help but do they really? Wish there was a louder voice for the mental health!!!

The stars have nothing to do with Chelsea from 2B, I was a little terror and have no recollection of when she took care of me. She said I was "all bark and no bite". The review has to do with nurse Jennifer calling my husband multiple times and lying to him and techs Vania and Jasmine going against orders from a MD-PhD from Stanford and causing me to collapse twice from low blood pressure. This all happened on 3A and I was confused who did what and had to piece together but Nurse Amy was wonderful and so sweet and really tried to help me. We love nurses my niece is a nurse my sister in law is a nurse and nurses spend more time with patients and take care of them. And I want everyone to know Nurse Jennifer is no nurse.

Almost 4 grand for 3 days. Better off getting a 72 hour hold from the state. They will not listen to you ever. Only the doctor on call ...what he says goes but make sure you act like a prisioner or the will forcefully hold you down and inject medicine into you that you cant take. No compassion at all and 4 man held me down and injected me with medication that was being used off label. But dont call an atty. No one will touch them. So AHCA and DCF and medicare will be called.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst place I've ever been, staff is crude, disrespectful, and will do whatever it takes to keep you there. I was lied to to get a reaction that would let them keep me there, they refused to treat an illness that ended up being pneumonia, if I didn't get out when I did I could've died. Kitchen staff continually gave me meals I couldn't eat because of dietary restrictions, and then got mad when I didn't eat it. Medication was withheld from me further damaging my mental state. I was told to cry about it or walked away from when I asked questions about MY treatment. I left with more trauma then I went in with. This facility is inhuman and dehumanizing. This hospital SHOULD NOT BE OPEN. If it wasn't just me against the hospital I would take them to court. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GOING HERE.

This place is awful very discriminatory

I stayed here recently for mental health and detox. I loved it! The staff were great and it was a bright, colorful, positive atmosphere. The foods not that great but I'm not picky..lol. They had groups, AA, and NA throughout the day. I highly recommend it.
