Since my daughter started in kindergarten six years ago, we have been impressed with McGehee in every way. They embrace your young girls and tell them they can do or be anything they want, while providing them all the tools to be successful. They push the girls to be their best and expect the girls to follow through. The teachers are top notch. They push the sciences and the arts without neglecting all the standard classes.Report
We were amazed by how they taught entrepreneurship to second and third graders. First making by handcrafted items and then selling what they made. Through plays and class projects the girls overcome their fear of public speaking and performing in front of large audiences. Their performance of the Music Man last year by the 5th grade was better than anything we did in high school. We are fortunate to have our daughter attend such a great school.Re: Since my daughter started ... Louise S. This has been a truly wonderful experience thus far for our child. She loves school and has progressed in such a beautiful way thanks to their care, attention to detail, and direction they give these kids that allows them to become better humans than they were when they entered the school. Yes, she is worth it.ReportRe: This has been a truly won ... Louise S. McGehee School replied on Tuesday, February 5th 2019Hi Craig, Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It is a wonderful school with a great and attentive staff. My oldest was fortunate to go there following Katrina and my youngest is loving it today.Report
An absolutely wonderful school experience for my daughter. I've never come across a school that truly cares so much about teaching girls to become strong confident women as well as providing a fantastic education. My daughter has loved this school since the first day of preschool and she just started 5th grade. I couldn't imagine a better environment for my daughter to grow up in.Report

I cannot say enough good things about this school. The support our daughters receive is beyond compare. In addition to the top notch education they are developing out girls to be self sufficient leaders.Report

My daughter is in her sixth year at McGehee and it has been a tremendous experience. Beyond strong academics, McGehee fosters independent thinking, the celebration of differences, and growth of the whole person. This strong community of families, faculty, staff and alumna makes McGehee the preeminent school for girls in New Orleans. We could not have made a better choice for our daughter.Report
