Add ReviewI would not recommend staying at Jekyll Island Club Resort. We have stayed there for several consecutive years for Christmas Eve in order to have dinner in the Grand Dining Room on Christmas Eve and the breakfast buffet on Christmas morning. It's a beautiful, old Victorian building and the setting is relaxing. That was before 2019. The level of service has deteriorated significantly since 2019, when a different company assumed the responsibility of running the hotel and dining facilities. The new service providers couldn't care less about their clients. I have been trying to make reservations to take my 97-year-old mother there for Christmas Eve. I can not get a live person on the phone at the front desk, in the Grand Dining Room, or an operator. I have left several messages for the manager of the dining room. He will not return phone calls. The person that I managed to get at the front desk yesterday was rude and unhelpful. When I stayed in 2019, the porters lost my coat as they transported my luggage from my room back to my car. These people don't care about whether their guests are happy and comfortable. When we were there in 2019, we were talking to a woman who has stayed there every Christmas for 20 years. She said she was never returning. Another couple said the same thing. Don't waste your time and money staying here. There are countless resorts in Georgia and Florida that offer better service and care about the comfort of their guests.Report
An amazing example of America's Gilded Age. Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, etc. steeped in history, wonderfully restored. Bicycles available, croquet lawn out front, shuttle to beach/shopping. Great experience!Report
We had a great weekend on Jekyll Island this weekend! I booked a surprise weekend at Jekyll Island Club Hotel and stayed in the Sans Souci building in a king suite. We stayed Friday and Saturday and had a great couple days enjoying the lights and the island. Dinner at Driftwood Bistro and Tortuga Jacks and both were great food. We did the trolleyish tour of the lights and the horse draw carriage tour of the lights. We did enjoy the horse draw carriage ride through the resort better - we did a later night ride 10:15-11PM. There was no one out since it was late so we saw many deer during our ride; it was a romantic and beautifully decorated back lot tour of a Hallmark movie. We caught the fireworks show on Saturday night which was a great event as my wife loves fireworks. Thank you to all of the staff at the Jekyll Island Club resort, trolley tour, horse draw carriage company, and the sponsors of the fireworks show!Report
Not as many lights as I thought. But good experienceReport
We loved our stay at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. The check in was very smoothly and the staff was extremely service oriented. They treated you like a customer and a guest! The staff in every area was extremely helpful and very friendly. I think other than the beauty of the resort and all the historic buildings around it. The staff was next with their service and helpfulness! They went above and beyond to assist you. We stayed in another historic building just to the right of the main hotel. It was actually very nice being in this oldReport
Historic house. The staircase and the beauty of the building was wonderful. The room was extremely nice and had a nice comfortable bed. The room and the entire resort was extremely clean and well kept up. This resort would be a perfect place for a weddings by or special event. But for us it was just a beautiful place to stay. The restaurants were also very good!

Family went for the Christmas lights on the island. Well worth the trip. I would suggest doing the driving self guided tour and find a parking spot by The Wharf. Several great spots for good pics!Report
