About Jay D Helman, DPM, PC

Dr. Jay Helman, a 1973 graduate of New York College of Podiatric Medicine, has been providing foot care to local families for over 40 years. Dr. Helman is Board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Dedicated to his work, Dr. Helman spreads his knowledge of podiatry and donates his services when not at his own practice. For example, he lectures nationally and internationally on fungal nail conditions and diabetic wound care. Additionally, for the past 6 years, he has served as a visiting faculty member of St. George University School of Medicine in Grenada.

While on the island of Grenada, Dr. Helman provides those in need with wound care and medical supplies. Since November of 2009, Dr. Helman's biannual trips have included bringing medical supplies to aid in his podiatric care and for distribution to the infirmed (ie: wound dressings and braces) via direct contact and/or through the Ministry of Health. Besides treating patients at the local infirmaries, he has spoken at Grenadas' Diabetic conference on foot health care and prevention, lectured to both nursing staff and physicians on wound protocols and treatment, been interviewed on the universitys' radio station and performed a public service interview on Grenadas' televisions health program.
