While some kids had average after school jobs, Dr. Erica Bennehoff was realizing her true passion.
“I started working for an Optometrist when I was a senior in high school, and by the time I was a sophomore in college, I knew I was going to become an Optometrist too.â€
This early experience with Optometry helps Dr. Bennehoff interact with her patients in a genuine way. “I love to work with my patients one-on-one and not have to sit at a desk all day. And, they appreciate that I can talk to them in terms that they understand,†she says.
Dr. Bennehoff grew up in Illinois and completed her bachelor's of science degree at Wesleyan University in biology/pre-med. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Bennehoff has been practicing Optometry for more than 10 years and joined the EyeFit team in 2013.
