Add ReviewThe unwritten rule when I learned to drive a stick-shift in the 1960's, was that after learning, you turned around and helped someone else. I apply that same rule to Dr. Greg DrakeReport
When you know you've found the best orthopedic surgeon, you share that knowledge.
Dr. Drake will not operate unless it is necessary and the patient (myself) was in complete understanding and agreement.
At my young age of 69, I am now pain free, and the surgery (rotator cuff) was pain free, being minimally invasive, allowing me to go home the same day. Dr. Drake and his PA, nurses assistants, as well as the other staff members, are very friendly and helpful. For a Doctor to graduate Magna Cum Laude, and to never have his "hand on the door knob", always making time to answer all your questions, indicated to me that Dr. Drake was not only a brilliant individual and surgeon, but the Doctor was more concerned about me than I was myself. This Doctor to me was the 'best of the best'.
This place will send you a bill 2 years later when you already paid and have proof. Won’t give you a clear answer and when you call billing they never pick up.Report
I want them to delete my patient portal then never contact me again asking for money years later
I had a severe Rotator Cuff surgery Oct 2022 and started PT at Core Ortho late November after 6 weeks in a sling. Surgeon recommended 3 one hour PT sessions per week for 12 weeks. My Therapist was Lindsay, knowledgeable, professional, and a fantastic fun personality. The program and exercise regiment she had me follow was challenging and extremely helpful in regaining full range of motion and strength. I felt we were a team in my recovery and grateful to have had Lindsay guide me through this process. Don’t try to skip any exercise reps, she sees everything. Put in the work and you’ll get the results.Report
Karissa assisted in a few of my 36 sessions and is just as caring and professional.
A very upbeat atmosphere and environment to recover in.
Highly recommend the Hoffman Estates location.

INJURY: Neck - Herniated DiscReport
THERAPIST: Kris Johnsen
I can't thank Kris Johnsen enough. One day I woke up with a large amount of pain in my right shoulder that would intermittently shoot down my right arm. After a few days my right index finger started to go numb. It was very painful and I could barely sleep when the symptoms first started. I ended up having a herniated disc in my neck.
This is a common but unique injury in the sense that you really need to locate an experienced physical therapist who is familiar with nerve irritation and pain. Kris is that person.
He was extremely careful and mindful during my therapy sessions and he always tried to make sure he didn't irritate my neck or nerve pain further. He was also experienced enough to know how to help heal this type of injury by working to relax the muscles in my shoulder while easing pressure on the various nerves leading from my neck through my arm.
I truly believe if I hadn't been placed with Kris, I may not have recovered as well as I did. A less experienced therapist would have certainly made my injury worse. I appreciate you, Kris! Thank you for your experience and for helping me through this stressful period.

Everyone from the office staff, the marketing team, PT’s all the way up to the Doctors and surgical support team, cares not only about putting you back into the best physical health possible when you exit their doors, they care about you beyond.Report
They care also about you and your efforts to pay your recovered good health forward, leading to your mental wellness thriving. They encourage you and those you connect with, to care about their healthy life styles and the well being of others who need help.
The Core Team made a very generous contribution to my yearly ride in The Great Cycle Challenge this past September. Funds raised through the ride go to support Children's Cancer Research.
Thank you CORE Orthopedics for being there to get us back to health, and for caring about Our cares and causes. Special thanks to Ken Ryan for your help.

Clueless staff unable to answer any questions on both the physical therapy side, as well as doctors office side. I've spent over 3 months and a huge amount of money to feel no better whatsoever. I felt the doctor truly did not care about my injury, just saw me as a dollar sign. He spent no more than two minutes with me over multiple visits.Report
