I met Dr. Ali in the emergency room of Lutheran General Hospital in February 2016. I had bi-lateral knee fractures (tibial plateaus). He was very calm and reassuring to both my husband and me. He explained the possible steps that would occur during my healing process and possible knee surgery. He was very empathetic to me and my situation. Dr. Ali's kind and gentle nature plus his knowledge of my injuries led us to look no further, Dr. Ali was the only choice. I was NOT interested in a second opinion. Today marks exactly 3 months since i broke my knees. Due to Dr. Ali's care and treatment protocol I do not require knee surgery. He sent me to a rehabilitation facility to recover and receive daily physical therapy treatments. At Avanti Wellness & Rehab my therapy requirements were monitored by Dr. Ali.
I went to his office in late February and two other times since. I never had to wait more than 10 minutes before being called in. His staff are equally as kind and empathetic. Cheryl spoke to me as if I was the only one who mattered at that moment. I had my "list" of questions at each visit and she answered all the questions (that she could) and never made me feel that I was taking up her time. She also advised me that Dr. Ali and his residents could answer any of the questions she could not answer. Michelle took my x-rays and was very gentle in maneuvering my legs, Michelle has a wonderful sense of humor, as she and I laughed during my x-rays sessions about various silly things.
As a result of my amazing care by Dr, Ali and his staff, I do not require knee surgery. I am walking (somewhat slow) but completely on my own and have been since the 2nd week of March.
If anyone in my family, friends or myself ever need an Orthopedic doctor, Dr. Ali and his team will be the ONLY name I refer or go to.
Thank you everyone at OSS for turning my horrible situation into completely healed knees!

He only cares about surgeries, that's where he makes his money. He doesn't realize how problems in one part of the body can be a hint of other problems within the body. I found that the source of my shoulder pain and loss of strength in throwing a baseball (which was the reason I visited him) was due to a bulging disc in my L4 vertebrae along with other misalignment throughout my spine. I had ideas of my spine being the source before I found out that it indeed it was the source. I told Dr. Ali this. He said that my back was fine, my shoulder was fine, and the lack was strength was due to age (I'm 30 years old). He wasted my time after my first visit out of three, treated me as though I would just need to settle with the fact that my shoulder was what it was and there was nothing else to it. Never want to see him again. I would not recommend.

Dr. Ali is one of a kind. I first had the opportunity to meet him 5 years ago when he took care of my grandmother who experienced a fall while in the later stages of Alzheimer's. He was extremely compassionate and patient towards both her and my family. My mom was also under his care for consistent shoulder pain, which then lead to surgery. He listened to her, suggested physical therapy first, and then suggested surgery as the final step. He and his staff treated her so well, that when I inquired about her appointments, she would rave about him, rather than telling me about the details of her appointment and how she was feeling. Most recently, my husband went to Dr. Ali for reoccurring shoulder pain, which improved with physical therapy he suggested. If it turns out he needs surgery down the line, you better believe Dr. Ali will be on speed dial. I am very thankful for the quality treatment he has provided my family members.
