Is your site Commercial or Non-Commercial?
|

|
Your site is commercial if it sells something, promotes goods and services, or promotes a company that sells goods
and services. Please submit all commercial sites through the fee-based
BOTW Directory Submit process.
The BOTW Editorial Staff defines Non-Commercial sites as any of the following: |
|
|
|
|
- personal home page about an individual, musician, or artist;
- community websites about the community, local sports, dance, movies, parks, and more;
- local non-profit organizations such as those involving neighborhood associations and volunteer opportunities;
- school websites from kindergarten through college;
- places of worship such as churches, temples, synagogues, sanctuaries, mosques, shrines and more.

Step 2 |
Does your non-commercial site meet the criteria for inclusion?
|
|
|
|
|
All Non-Commercial sites submitted to Best of the Web must meet the following
minimum criteria: |
|
|
|
|
- The site must not be connected with or engaged in commercial enterprises;
- The site must be up and running 24/7;
- The site must not already appear in the Directory;
- The site must contain unique content, as determined by a BOTW editor;
- The site must not contain any parts under construction;
- All links on the site must work;
- The site must be in the English language (or have an English version available);
- The site must support multiple browsers and capabilities;
- The site must not contain any adult content or sexually explicit material.
- The site must not contain any content, products, services or other
information that may be illegal to sell under any applicable law,
that may infringe or violate anyone's rights, or that, BOTW believes,
in its sole discretion, is offensive.
Please note that the above listed are the minimum site criteria
only, and BOTW editors use additional factors in deciding whether of
not to accept your site for inclusion. |

Step 3 |
Select a relevant category |
|
|
|
|
Browse the BOTW Directory to find a category that relates to the content on your non-commercial site. Click on the
'Submit a site to this category' link at the bottom of the page and proceed to the Non-Commercial submit process.
Choosing a relevant category helps our editors in determining the most appropriate category for your listing, and aids in the approval process.

Step 4 |
Submit a good title and description for your non-commercial website |
|
|
|
|
To assist the BOTW editorial team in an efficient review of your listing, make sure to provide a clear name and brief description of
your site. Be objective when describing the contents of your site. Site descriptions that are promotional
and unclear will delay or prevent inclusion into the directory.
