In a game that was supposed to be a defensive battle, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a franchise-record tying five touchdown passes as Pittsburgh pounded the Baltimore Ravens 38-7 on Monday Night.

All the touchdown passes came in the first half. The 25-year-old Roethlisberger was a model of efficiency, completely 13-of-16 passes for 209 yards and no interceptions on the night.

Steelers fans had a brief scare in the third quarter when Roethlisberger left the game after being pushed to the ground by Baltimore’s Terrell Suggs. With an apparent hip pointer, Roethlisberger hobbled to the sidelines and was tended to by the Pittsburgh training staff.

The injury didn’t appear serious and he returned to action in the fourth quarter for one more series before taking the rest of the night off.

Pittsburgh celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Steelers franchise prior to the game with a ceremony honoring the 75 greatest players in the team’s history. The team wore retro uniforms during the game as part of the celebration.

The Steelers record now sits at 6-2 on the season, including 3-0 within in their division.
