Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights

For the kid (or adult) who’s done it all — haunted houses, hay rides, and other spooky activities — there’s only one thing left: Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights. Located at both the Hollywood and Orlando locations, Halloween Horror Nights aims scare the pants off you, frighten the wits out of you, and take the breath right out of you.

The horrifying event began in Orlando in 1991, under the then-name of “Fright Nights.” Over the years, Halloween Horror nights  evolved from a 3-day event into a 23-night fear fest.

The Orlando event features eight haunted houses, peppered throughout the park, featuring sound stages and interactive queue lines. The haunted houses are themed, such as  The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds, which promises you an inside look at the Dewitt family home as you’re chased by Leatherface, a chainsaw-wielding killer. The Orlando Halloween Horror Nights also features shows like Freak Show, billed as being “bizarre, hysterical, astonishing, freakishly freakin’ freaky!” that will push the audience to the limits of sanity.

The Hollywood event also brings a trail of carnage and fear to town, with sttractions such as the Terror Tram, which takes  you to the twisted and perverse worlds of the infamous Freddy, Jason, Jack the Clown, and Leatherface. When you disembark from the tram, you’ll find yourself in the center of one of the most terrifying scenes of all time: the Bates Motel and the Psycho House. Run for you life, or you may find yourself as the next victim of the bloodthirsty shower!

The Hollywood location also features several scare zones, where the dead and undead lurk behind every wall, stone, and crevice, waiting to claim you as their next victim. If you survive each zone, you’ll wind your way through Zombie Invasion, the ghost town of Deadwood, Haunted London, The Black Death, and Hellbilly Hoedown.

At either location, Halloween Horror Night may be too explicit for young children, so plan ahead to make it a big kids and adult night, and let the terror begin!
