“On demand” is one of the biggest phrases in the video business these days. People have started to get used to the idea that they can watch what they want to watch when they want to watch it. Whether it’s their television or their computer that they’re using as a viewing tool, they don’t want to have to wait to see the programming that catches their attention. And soon, Netflix will start satisfying this viewing urge.

Although many people love the fact that they can get movies in their mail and watch them at their leisure, not everyone wants to wait to see their favorite films. Netflix is working to offer movies on-demand in the near future, using a set-top box that the company is creating in conjunction with LG Electronics.

The box is pricey in comparison with a Netflix DVD subscription. Expected to cost a few hundred dollars, the box will be a sort of “on-demand” system for Netflix movies. People with a desire for instant gratification may find that they’re willing to foot the bill for the service. A preview of the service can be seen in Netflix’s online version of the system called “watch instantly”.
