With the opening of The Simpsons Movie, 7-11 stores have converted eleven franchise locations in the United States and two in Canada into Kwik-E-Marts – the fictional mart on the long running The Simpsons TV show.
The real life Kwik-E-Marts feature Homer Simpson’s favorite pink sprinkle donuts, Buzz Cola, Radioactive comic books and tons of other Simpsons related items. The stores are located in Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and other major cities.
The Simpsons Movie opened nationwide on Friday, July 27, 2007.
The conversion of the 7-11’s to Kwik-E-Marts is only temporary, as part of a promotion for the movie.
The Simpsons animated television show has been running since 1989 and depicts a funny, yet not completely unrealistic look at American culture. Homer and Marge Simpson, along with their children Bart, Lisa and Maggie have become icons around the world over the years.
