Jimmy Carter Man From Plains opens in select cities October 26, 2007. The film received critical acclaim at several film festivals and was chosen as an Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival.

The documentary follows Carter, the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981,while he’s on tour promoting his book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.”

The movie is directed by Academy Award winner Jonathan Demme, who had total access to the former president. Carter’s book was the source of much controversy upon its publication and the embattled Carter spent much of the tour defending his use of the word apartheid to discuss the Palestinian issue. This documentary shows the viewer what motivates Carter and the belief and conviction he has to reach his ultimate goals.
