Country music lovers take note: Carrie Underwood, winner of the fourth season of “American Idol,” releases her second album, Carnival Ride, today.
After winning “Idol,” Underwood’s debut album Some Hearts was released in November 2005. Hit singles included “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Some Hearts,” “Before He Cheats” and “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” For her work on the album, she received four Grammy nominations — Best New Artist, Best Female Country Vocal Performance, Best Country Song, and Song of the Year and was featured as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
Underwood will likely once again take the country music charts by storm today with her new album, which features the hit single “So Small.” Fans can look forward to music with a stronger personal influence than the first album, as Underwood wrote some of the songs this time. It features several heartfelt songs, such as “I Know You Won’t,” “Twisted,” “All-American Girl” and “I Told You So.”
